About this job
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operation and profitability of their food service operation. This includes, but is not limited to, ordering of food products & supplies, ensuring proper recording of waste, and overseeing employees.
Requirements
Job Requirements
*2-5 years leading a food service operation.
*Will be required to become food safety certified.
*High school graduate or equivalent a must. Bachelor's or Associate's degree a plus.
*Be friendly and courteous with employees and guests.
*Review hourly sales to determine production levels.
*Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently, meeting Fastrac's standards.
*Place orders for food service products and supplies.
*Audit food inventory to determine loss.
*Ensure the entire kitchen team is aware of their responsibilities regarding health and safety in the workplace.
*Ensure that the company food safety management system is in place and fully understood by all team members.
*Must be an effective leader, rallying the team during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts and getting the job done.
*Be able to solve problems quickly and effectively.
*Need to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give orders and speak with customers clearly.
*Kitchen managers can expect long days on their feet around hot cooking elements.
*Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues.
*Through the effective use of company documentation, ensure that all relevant control procedures are in place to deliver accurate production records and effective waste management.
*Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office.
*Always adhere to all company policies and procedures.
*With the support of the Management Team, equip all members of the kitchen team with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to do their job successfully.
