Cashier - FOH Department

Primary Responsibilities: Delivers superior guest service while processing transactions including, but not limited to, initiation and settlement of patron checks, suggestive selling of beverages and pastries, as well as maintaining, balancing and reconciling cash drawers. In addition, assists with everyday functions of the restaurant to include Greeter and Busser functions.

Specific Functions and Duties:

  1. Deliver exemplary customer service by greeting customers in a prompt and courteous manner while completing their transactions.
  2. Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the restaurant's menu and products.
  3. Answer guest questions about menu items and suggest additional items to customers for purchase as appropriate.
  4. Take guest beverage and dessert items orders and provide beverage items prior to completing the transaction.
  5. Must be able to properly identify food by sight and accurately and efficiently input an order using the POS (point-of-sale) system.
  6. Count and return proper change while operating computerized cash register.
  7. Receive phone calls and take phone orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining customer service standards.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and assist in keeping the front of the house area clean and safe at all times.
  9. Support other areas of the restaurant as needed, such as seating guests, answering telephones, clean up, etc.
  10. Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
  11. Work as part of the restaurant team to assist with and respond to guests' and Team Members' needs.
  12. Effectively communicate with management and other Team Members to promptly address issues and resolve concerns.
  13. Perform other job related duties as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility during the entire shift
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, squat and stoop while serving guests and performing ancillary duties.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to transport and carry objects (such as food and beverages) up to 25 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
  • Ability to operate Crathco Cool Beverage Dispenser and other beverage machines.
  • Ability to perform and withstand frequent immersion of hands in water.
  • Ability to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on both high and low shelves.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Possession of finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
  • Ability to arrive on time for each schedules shift and work throughout the shift (aside from legally-required breaks) per the schedule and restaurant demands.
  • Ability to give appropriate notice for any need to deviate – in any way – from one’s scheduled shift.
