Job Description Summary
 

Performs a wide range of duties to safely and efficiently produce precast concrete products of the highest quality standards. Reports to Production Manager.

 

Responsibilities
 

  • Maintains plant production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on electric motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
  • Conducts machine installs and repairs, maintenance and facilities repair, including electrical, mechanical, welding, fabrication of special parts as needed
  • Maintain and repair all existing electrical equipment in the production areas
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
  • Prepare maintenance inspection reports for management as directed
  • Maintain strict documentation of all plant electrical circuitry
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
  • Calibrate and adjust all electrical/electronic equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Utilize Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and other troubleshooting techniques to observe electrical and electronic devices/systems to locate, isolate, and repair causes of problems
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education/Certification
 

  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical operations and components
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of three phase motors, programmable controls, circuits
  • Requires strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, and experience using testing equipment

Experience / Skills

 

  • Working knowledge of Equipment Maintenance, Technical Understanding, Basic Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Flexibility, Supervision, Job Knowledge, Productivity
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Previous repair skills in manufacturing environment required
  • Advanced understanding of electrical mechanical parts, tools and testing equipment
  • Good attendance and positive attitude
  • Team oriented
  • Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure

 

Physical Requirements
 

  • Industrial Plant environment
  • Frequent Walking/Standing (6+ hrs/day)
  • Frequent lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Max lift (up to 40 lbs)
  • Frequent climbing of ladders
