CVOR-REGISTERED NURSE FIRST ASSISTANT - Full-time / Part-time

As the CVOR RNFA you assist the cardiovascular surgical team performing cardio procedures. The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse First Assistant will be responsible for coordinating and directing CVOR patient care, problem solving and quality monitoring of the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR OR).

Registered Nurse First Assistant candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (RNFA-CVOR) should meet the following minimum qualifications:

Skills required:
•Provide exposure though appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging techniques.
•Must be able to handle and dissect tissue, clamp blood vessels, coagulate bleeding points, ligate vessels, and perform other procedures in collaboration with the surgeon.
•Able to suture muscle, fascia, subcutaneous and skin.
•Will also place drains and assist with cannulation and decannulation as indicated.
•Able to suture the leg incisions appropriately without assistance.
•Full Time 6:30AM-3:00PM Monday-Friday **Required to take CV call
•Texas RN license,
•BLS, ACLS, PALS
•CVOR RN First Assistant experience is required.
•Completion of an AORN approved Registered Nurse First Assistant Program or Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
