Our Client located in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking document control specialist responsible for distribution, procedural compliance and good documentation practices to achieve timely releases and distribution of documentation that supports delivering high quality and compliant products that meet and exceed their customer expectation.

 Position Outcomes:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must accomplish the following position objectives:

  • Specialist will interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers and management to achieve successful documentation and maintenance of part numbers, processes, drawings, and schematics, to ensure product transfers from engineering to manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Comply with Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Update manufacturing assembly documentation and engineering prints.
  • Ensure the operation of the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist engineering, quality, purchasing and manufacturing personnel in creating and processing documents necessary to define product configuration, control manufacturing processes and engineering changes.
  • Coordinate the review and revision of procedures, specifications, parts lists, ECR/ECOs, BOM and forms; maintain the comprehensive filing system for all documents to be retained in the document control center
  • Collect and maintain files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes.
  • Process Document requests and timely distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution and databases updated.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of information contained in all documents, document files, databases, and documentation systems.
  • Maintain a computer database of all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents.
  • Create and update part numbers and BOM’s in ERP.
  • Operates and helps maintains printers, scanner, and collating & binding equipment.
  • Print on-demand manuals to fulfill orders
  • Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.
  • Provide training to newer employees.

 

Education and/or Experience:                                    

  • High School Diploma and 5 years’ applicable work experience required
  • Certificate in Documentation Control or Associates in an Engineering discipline preferred
  • Experience with BOM structuring
    Experience with revision control of specifications
    Understanding of ISO9000 and Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Previous experience with software and firmware revision control preferred
    Familiar with engineering drawings, schematics and blue prints
