Qualifications
- Strong safety values
- Candidates MUST be able to read, and understand blueprints at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Must be able to layout, fabricate, and weld directly from blueprints
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AWS D1.1, and AISC Codes
- Candidate must be able to pass multiple welding processes, and positions AWS certification weld tests (primarily M.I.G. (G.M.A.W.), Flux Core and Hardwire with Carbon Steel)
- Willingness to participate in training to continue developing skills
- Intermediate to advanced shop math skills
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility in accepting change
- Good communication skills (spoken and written)
- STRONG teamwork skills, but also the ability to work as an individual
- Proven ability in the use of a variety of hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs, and ladders, work at heights, and work in extreme temperature conditions
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent with strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing)
