Currently seeking a Transportation Clerk/Dispatcher for a role in Harrisburg!
PRIMARY DUTIES
* Organize and schedule weekly back-hauls
* Update weekly back-hauls as needed and notify the drivers of any unscheduled back-hauls or delivery income pick-ups.
* Make back-haul appointments.
* Work with and communicate with Purchasing department to schedule all back-hauls to avoid missing any back-hauls due to scheduling conflicts.
* Verify freight revenue weekly from back-haul reports
* Review inbound freight report weekly for new back-haul and freight route opportunities.
* Monitor revenue on freight routes weekly.
* Communicate with Warehouse to insure proper loading and equipment for back-haul and freight routes.
* Place and receive phone calls and type memos, as needed.
* Assist Transportation Department as needed and requested.
* Sets appointments for inbound shipments.
* Schedules missed appointments.
MUST HAVES
1-2 years in a dispatching/logistics position
Excellent attendance record
Proficient computer skills, experience in SAP a plus
-Hours: Tuesday- Saturday 7:00am-3:30pm OR Sunday- Thursday 11:00pm-7:30am.
-Mostly in the office, may have to be on the docks to update shipments/paperwork
-Trucking environment
-Flexibility on shifts is a huge plus!
