Responsibilities:
Under supervision and direction performs the turf, ornamental maintenance, grounds, parking lot, driveway and sidewalk maintenance including mowing, fertilizing, trimming, irrigation, snow/ice/sleet removal, asphalt patching and overall grounds-keeping of all the UnityPoint Health Des Moines' properties.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Silver level National Career Readiness Certification preferred. For information on how to obtain this, please visit the website at www.skillediowa.org. EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of the care for a wide variety of plant, tree and shrub materials. Working knowledge of operation and maintenance all equipment used in a grounds-keeping environment. Working knowledge of spraying and fertilizer calibration. Working knowledge of irrigation systems. LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: A valid Iowa Driver's License. Current ornamental and turf pest control pesticide applicators certificate or the ability to obtain the certification within 1 year of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Effective for all job offers made July 1, 2010 or after, candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
