Production Supervisor

JOB FUNCTION:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising all personnel and equipment in the raw processing departments, roasting and packaging lines under the direction of the senior supervisor and/or production manager. The operational responsibilities are to be performed in an efficient and safe manner while meeting all quality parameters during the course of the shift. Ensures product in all departments of production meets specifications.

Essential Functions:
  1. Manages WIP inventory during shift operations.
  2. Reconciles shift inventor movement daily.
  3. Directs forklift drivers on use of product and product warehousing.
  4. Directs ECS operation and sorting for in shell and kernel production so semi finished product is within specification.
  5. Selects correct semi finished product to make finished goods with guidance from the Senior Production supervisor or Production Manager.
  6. Checks correctly graded and certified product matches purchase order requirements for packaging.
  7. Ensures case/box/super sack markings are correct.
  8. Generates reports for executing and monitoring production for self and as requested by management.
  9. Verifies correct quantities and sizes of product for orders as needed.
  10. Supervises roasting operations so product is within all specified parameters.
  11. Keeps track of employee hours worked.
  12. Ensures all employees adhere to all company policies such as GMP’s, safety, etc. and participates in the disciplinary process when policies/rules are violated.
  13. Trains reporting personnel on the proper procedures.
  14. Other duties as assigned by Management.


Qualifications:
  1. Understands grades of all products.
  2. Strong communication/interpersonal skills
  3. Knowledge of safety standards and have a safety conscious attitude
  4. Knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety
  5. Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Math skills to easily calculate ratios/blending percentages.
  8. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Food safety practices.


Reporting relationships:
  1. Reports directly to Senior Production Manager or Production Manager
  2. Direct reports include roasting operators, sorting department personnel, raw warehouse forklift drivers and packaging personnel.
  3. Works directly with Quality Control and other Production Supervisors.


Working Conditions:
  1. All work, except when performing administrative office work, is performed in ambient temperature and weather conditions.
  2. Lifting, climbing, bending, and reaching required to scope or perform work.
  3. Ability to work under deadline pressure and work extra or flexible hours as needed.
