Job Description

The primary purpose of the Candy Manager is to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The Candy Manager is responsible for maintaining and operating the Candy Department; generate sales, hand dipping product in chocolate, packing out fresh and packaged product, housekeeping and merchandising product, coaching, training and scheduling a team.

Duties and responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

General

  • Observe all store rules and company policies;
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe the company dress code; must wear an approved hat or hair net;
  • Observe shift operating hours at all times, as scheduled or assigned by store manager;
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures;
  • Package, wrap, weigh, mark, and accurately price and label product and platters according to recipes and standards;
  • Prepare trays and set-up cases and product displays;
  • Ensure product availability, quality, and freshness by proper rotation, stocking and replenishing of products;
  • Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department; report any equipment problems immediately;
  • Gain and maintain product knowledge and be able to respond to customers’ questions and make suggestions about products;
  • Ensure and maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, weekly ad specials and educate customers on cheese and help increase sales;
  • Ensure products for sale are fresh and safe to eat; items that show signs of spoilage are properly discarded;
  • Maintain proper shelf tags and sales signs. Request signage as needed;
  • Maintain a clean, attractive and orderly department;
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, storage and stocking of product and supplies;
  • Take products to preparation or storage area including refrigerated storage boxes;
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods;
  • Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance;
  • Help customers at the counter and the store;
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws;
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed;

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in retail environment preferred.
