Job Description:
3M is seeking a Lock Technician for the 3M Corporate Security team located in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Lock Technician will provide locksmith services support and consultation to internal 3M clients.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Installing, repairing, diagnosing and rebuilding mechanical and electrical locking devices, components and solutions. Cutting keys by code, rekeying doors and locks. Performing preventative maintenance.
* Developing and demonstrating product and technology expertise in order to act as a resource to customers.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with life safety codes and ADA laws when performing installs, repairs and maintenance.
* Performing administrative duties such as processing work orders, email, inventory maintenance, etc.
* Assisting in providing direction for 3M locking standards and strategies.
* Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
* High school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution
* Minimum of three (3) years of locksmith experience
* Minimum of one (1) year of Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution
* Certified Master Locksmith
* Minimum of seven (7) years of locksmith experience
* Working knowledge and experience with electronic key cabinet technology
* A solid understanding of how to design master key systems
* Strong oral and written communication skills
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
Relocation: Is not authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
