Payroll Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible for bi-weekly payroll using Workday and HR System processing; this includes but is not limited to data entry verification of pay and employee data. Follow appropriate internal processes and audits to ensure compliance and accurate payroll processing. Creates simple reports and conducts analysis on data collected for internal and external projects.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process field employees’ payroll.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions processed timely.
  • Interact with management and operations management to rectify pay issues.
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed payroll checks.
  • Maintain ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Provide telephone and e-mail support.
  • Calculate and process special checks. Review, edit and make corrections and adjustments as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage hourly vacation payouts (in applicable states).
  • Process deductions including clothing allowances, garnishments, tax levies, benefits, etc.
  • Serve as the repository of all incoming terminated employee files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work with HRIS Analyst with system updates in Workday & (Radiant – T&L System).
  • Process pay card updates and run monthly bank reports.
  • Troubleshoot on boarding issues and communicate to management and employees.
Position Requirements (Education, Qualifications, Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degree required with at least three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
