Medical Communication Writer I
Responsible for providing creative and technical writing support for less complex member health education communication materials
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assists in developing creative writing solutions that provide a consistent message to members using behavior-change strategies
Writes, edits, and reviews content for traditionally printed programs (Collateral, member communications, direct mail, etc) and/or digital programs (micro sites, mobile, etc)
Ensures all materials meet internal and external business and legal standards and follows appropriate corporate standards, guidelines, and approval process
Assists with workflow process as well a process improvements that support operational excellence, and supports business initiatives (plain language, standardization, going paperless, etc.
Preferred location is 5800 Northhampton Blvd, Norfolk VA 23508 (if within 65 miles, will be required to work in the office)
Open to anyone in the US, work from home is an option
Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM EST (please note must be able to work east coast schedule, no matter location)

Qualifications
Requires
BA/BS degree;
2 years of writing experience
1 year experience health communication writing experience
or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Preferred
Experience in health care or managed care
Writing for low-literacy audiences.
Experience with the creation of various types of materials to include print and digital formats
