Space Planning Intern - Full-time / Part-time

POSITION TIMELINE: September - December 2017

JOB LOCATION: Media PA

HOUR COMMITMENT: September-December minimum of 20 hours (Monday - Friday)

The Space Planning Intern will work with the Space Planning Team to support ongoing projects; such as new store builds following mapping rules, fixture design, implementing merchandising tests, and pulling remodel analysis. Position will require learning new software including JDA Space Planning, JDA Floor Planning and SAP's Business Warehouse (BW).

Principal Duties:

1. Assist in creating new floor plans, versioning existing floor plans and linking floor plan to store within JDA Floor Planning following new mapping rules. Navigate the JDA floor plan fixture library. Create new fixtures as required following proper naming conventions.
2. Assist the Category Space Planners with planogram changes.
3. Maintain existing store layouts and support category team initiatives and store operations requests. Assign category plan-o-grams to floor plans according to store layout. Run scripts to assign list plan-o-grams. Perform audits to ensure accurate listing conditions are met.
4. Utilize SAP's Business Warehouse (BW) software to collect sales data and aid in the analysis of category locations and adjacencies, as well as merchandising tests and remodels.
5. Communicate test-related information to Store Operations Team and serve as a point of contact for test-related questions from Store Associates and Management.
6. Perform site visits and audit stores for test compliance. Identify and report any issues that may compromise test results.
7. Work with Space Innovation Specialist to design and implement new merchandising fixtures.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Studying towards a marketing degree
2. Retail Experience Preferred - ability to understand planograms & floorplans
3. Ability to read floor plan drawings, understanding fixtures, categories and plan-o-grams.
4. Proficient in spreadsheet based analytical tools, and other PC applications
5. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite; Proficient in Microsoft Excel
