Position Summary: Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer, Wisconsin is looking for an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) for our high demand level IV trauma-designated ED. As a Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) hospital in Wisconsin, we offer comprehensive care to all of our patients.

We have a regionally modeled ED staffed by dedicated Emergency Providers 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We have access to the region's only Level II Trauma Center in Eau Claire and to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN through the state of the art technology of Telemedicine and Tele-Stroke. We care for patients of all ages who are in need of emergency medical treatment. In addition, we serve patients with urgent care needs.

The ED team consists of one RN, a provider, and one EMT. Working directly with skilled providers to care for our sickest patients, staff in the ED experience a steady flow of patients throughout their shift and the opportunity to help patients anywhere in the hospital.

Our EDTs are critical to the well-being of our patients and have key roles in the Emergency Department's performance as well as quality improvement. Successful EDTs in our department are dedicated to these initiatives, dynamic and adaptable in our fast paced environment.

Responsibilities: The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The EDT provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients and performs approved procedures per policy. The EDT assists patients with activities of daily living and assists with the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Qualifications: Minimum EMT-Basic license. Current BLS certification.

Additional Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent, preferred. One year of experience as EMT preferred. One year acute care hospital experience, preferred. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge. Decision making and problem solving skills, spoken and written communication skills, and team building skills. Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner.

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $14.75 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 48 hours every two week pay period

Schedule Details: Primarily 12- hour day shift (6:00 am - 6:00 pm), occasional night shift as needed.

Weekend Schedule: Every 3rd weekend, 2 holidays per year.
