Controls Engineer
Tier 1 Automotive company.
This person will be working as a Controls Engineer at their Grand Rapids. This is one of their Automotive plants. They will work with their Controls team and program their machines in either Allen Bradley or Siemens. They need to be able to program from scratch but some of the job will just be basic troubleshooting as well (majority is from scratch). They will need to be familiar with Vision systems as well, they use Cognex.
Other responsibilities Include:
-working with electrical control schematics (AutoCAD)
-work with robotics (ABB, Motoman)
-HMI programming
Controls Engineer who is be working 25% with floor support doing troubleshooting and upgrades to existing equipment. 75% will be more Project oriented where they will be making changes to existing equipment to make is more efficient.
Travel will be around 10% a year. Almost all of the travel will be domestic. Travel will consist of going to a client site for additional support.
MUST HAVES:
-at least 5 years of industry experience ( can be a combination of programming for 2 years, controls design for 3 years as an example)
-PLC programming from scratch (Allen Bradley or Siemans)
AutoCad (Able to draw schematics)
Vision systems (Congnex is preferred)
Must have a degree.
