About this job
Test, repairs, replaces and installs air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment for air conditioning or heating hospital buildings, preserving food, making ice, cooling water, etc.. Under general supervision. Inspects and operates heating and cooling machinery or units and adjusts valves or thermostats to maintain required temperatures. Assists in directing activities of subordinate personnel engaged in HVAC projects as requested.
Education:
Knowledge of general electrical principles and systems as related to air conditioning, heating and refrigeration and ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings at a level normally acquired through completion of up to one year vocational training beyond high school.
NOTE: All applicants are required to submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate verifying their level of education at the time of their interview. This transcript must be in a sealed envelope from the school or agency .
Experience:
Approximately two to three years related work experience required to fully understand the installation and repair of heating ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning units.
