Job DescriptionThe Culinary Associate Team Leader assists the Culinary Team Leader in the daily operations of the department. Responsibilities include inventory control, profitability, maintenance of back stock and department sales floor, and training and supporting Prepared Foods team members. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Performs all duties of Team Member's. Provide Outstanding Customer Service and accurately answer all customer questions. Work a variety of shifts on the counter or in the kitchen. Handle all schedule requests and scheduling for the department needs. Assist with all payroll-processing duties. Meets and communicates with Team Leader on a regular basis. Train new members in the department on expectations, safety and sanitation. Assist with all hiring and counseling. Understand and help meet all labor and margin targets. Participate in monthly inventory. Capable of performing all Team Leader duties in their absence. Ability to perform opening and closing procedures. Insure all sanitation requirements are consistently met. Update training materials on a regular basis. Motivate team. Lead by example. Throughout shift, examine the cases from the customer's perspective and clean, adjust accordingly (clean glass and make sure signs are accurate and visible). Perform other tasks as assigned by Team Leader and store leadership. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: 1-2 year's food service experienced preferred. Able to perform physical requirements of job. Practices proper use of knives, slicer, trash compactor, baler (must be 18 years of age or older), and all other equipment used during food preparation and clean up. Clear and effective communicator. Patient and enjoys working and mentoring people. Ability to work well with others as a team. Knows products and specials to be served. Properly store all perishables. Works well with other and participates as part of a team. Ability to work rotating shifts Monday through Sunday including some holidays. Know dishes included in various dietary categories: Vegan, oil free, vegetarian, etc. Know all stations within the department including hot & cold case, salad bar, pre-pack, Pizza and sandwich station.
