Internship Summary
This internship opportunity is tailored for individuals who have an interest in sports television entertainment offering them a behind-the-scenes look at Spectrum’s three 24/7 regional sports networks. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated, self-starters, have a great attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges every day.
Internships at Spectrum Sports will include hands-on operational experience and leadership development opportunities.



Internships at Spectrum Sports will include hands-on operational experience, leadership development opportunities and an end-of-internship assignment.

Studio Ops Internship – Daily duties:
• Assists studio and show production staff to prepare and create original event, in-studio, episodic, and digital content.
• Supports Director and Technical Directors during all live, in-studio events.
Operates teleprompter for live Studio programming as required
• Operates technical equipment on ad hoc basis while adhering to high production standards.
• Acts professionally and as a positive force in the team environment.
• Participates in training programs and initiatives.
• Assists managers and show production staff to prepare and create original programming, in-studio, episodic, and digital content.
• Operates daily in the Control Room, Video Shading, Audio, Audio Assist, Playback, Replay, Chyron, Camera and Robotic Camera positions during live events and/or studio productions as requested.



Leadership Development
• Leadership Panel/Speaker Series
• Management “Day” of Shadowing

End-of-Internship Assignment
Those participating in the internship program at Spectrum Sports must complete an end-of-internship assignment to showcase their learnings. Interns will present the assignment to Spectrum Sports staff from all levels of production and management as well as other departments such as Marketing & Communications, Operations and Engineering/IT. Assignment details will be discussed at the start of the internship with direct manager.

• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments

• Must be willing and able to learn, understand, share knowledge and grow with the business

Internships are paid at a rate of $10.50 per hour and can also be part of a course of study offered by an accredited college, for which participants will receive academic credit.

Must be available, if selected, to participate in following summer internship program:
o Sept. 12, 2017 – May 25th, 2018

Internship will be a full-time position, Monday through Friday for 32-40 hours per week.

Availability to work weekend events and games is required. Notice in such instances will be provided in advance and schedules arranged accordingly.
