About this job

                      

OBJECTIVE:
The Hardlines Associate will primarily work in a production environment processing donated items in two or more functional areas following Goodwill’s quality and pricing standards. The items will be prepped and placed onto the sales floor. The Hardlines Associate will occasionally be in contact with customers and will need to provide excellent customer service displaying an “Attitude of Gratitude” in order to support the mission of the organization.

Functional Areas include: Books and similar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality and value of product and pricing it accordingly, researching value as necessary.
• Place items on sales floor according to retail center policies and procedures, making sure area is well stocked.
• Assist Customers with product questions while providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure the production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, and clean to ensure store presentation and shop ability.
• Rotating/Pulling old/unsold product from sales floor ensuring that our product selection is always new.
• Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees.
• Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Have a high attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
• Able to lift up to 75lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
• Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
