About this job

This role manages PepsiCo's Domestic Casualty Risks including fronting arrangements, excess/umbrella coverage placement, coverage terms and conditions, development of underwriting submissions and supporting negotiations. In addition, the role manages PepsiCo's captive insurance companies working closely with Accounting, Tax and Legal and leads the team's SOX activities. The scope of the U.S. exposure base includes over 100,000 employees; 35,000 vehicles and >100 manufacturing and co-packer facilities. The role manages one full time Finance professional.

Domestic Primary, Global Excess Casualty, and Cyber renewals and Risk Financing: Manage expense volatility related to casualty losses, recommend and implement risk financing strategies including retention levels and risk transfer, identify associated accounting and tax implications, and track and optimize collateral exposure and negotiate requirements with insurance carriers. Lead annual actuarial review of casualty reserves and recommend adjustments consistent with PEP's accounting policy. Understand PepsiCo's claims management processes and mitigation strategies to effectively negotiate insurance. Work closely with claims staff at the Business Units and PEP's third party administrator. Renew insurance programs and ensure best in class coverage. Manage broker and insurer relationships to implement cost effective insurance programs and services. Coordinate coverage between global excess and local casualty programs.

* Captive Management: Manage relationship with Captive Manager (service provider) to ensure funding, regulatory compliance and timely statutory reporting of PepsiCo's captive insurance companies. Improve captive governance including managing SOX processes. Develop agenda, content, and arrange for captive board meetings and advisory board meetings with Treasurer, Controller, and Associate General Counsel. Prepare cash flow forecasts for captive operations to ensure adequate liquidity. Identify new risk financing captive opportunities.

* SOX MANAGEMENT: SOX Control Owner for Treasury Risk Management processes including maintaining process flow diagrams, risk control matrix and test scripts as well as performing certain annual and quarterly tests and reporting results to Treasury leadership. Liaise with Treasury SOX coordinator on behalf of Risk Management to achieve timelines and information requirements.

* Risk Consultation: Conduct merger & acquisition risk/due diligence assessments, capital expenditure risk analysis, and vendor/customer contract reviews. Provide risk management consultation to corporate and business unit groups on the risks in their proposed activities. Prepare Power Point decks for presentation to PEP senior management and/or divisional contacts. Extensive cross-functional alignment with Legal, Tax, and Accounting and regular interactions with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Procurement.

* Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance or other Business related discipline (or liberal arts background with proven quantitative course experience).

* MBA in Finance is highly desirable; 8+ years of insurance industry experience in a complex operating environment; knowledge of insurance markets, tax and accounting issues, mass tort, contract and statutory laws and actuarial sciences

* Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills

* Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to create PowerPoint presentations from start to completion

* High level of systems proficiency
