Purpose

The Merchandising Pricing Analyst is responsible for overseeing both the strategic and administrative aspects of maintaining accurate item retail prices and costs in the organization's enterprise systems. This associate will also work closely with key business stakeholders to conduct analysis on retail price changes. This involves close and continuous interaction with the Senior Directors of Regional Merchandising and merchandising category teams. The Pricing analyst is responsible for designing and enhancing the underlying business processes related to the introduction of retail and cost changes into MMS and has ownership of data accuracy and integrity. This role is expected to provide subject matter expertise to the stores and SSC regarding retail/cost management, such as automated pricing programs, store signage and knowledge of the merchandising system. This role is also expected to provide analytical expertise to report on price/margin elasticity as well as to identify opportunities for improvement in the organization's current pricing strategy.

Merchandising
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and owner of cost/retail maintenance.
  • Responsible and owns the administrative responsibilities associated to the company retail and cost price changes. This includes creating, validating and updating regular pricing/margin reporting. Manages the retail/cost change process, ensuring that approved prices are implemented and updated accurately and on time. Assist in establishing retail/cost setup for new stores.
  • Execute and improve automated pricing programs. Communicates price changes to the stores. Address retail/cost inquiries from stores and the broader merchandising team.
  • Assist marketing/advertising with company and regional ad pricing verification.
  • Performs price change impact analysis to determine sales increase/decrease based on price change.
  • Formulates and executes process improvement initiatives associated with retail/cost management, including partnering with IT when appropriate.
  • Provide store signage (system generated price tags) support and create/modify existing signs in coordination with IT.
Administration
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing and enforcing Retail/Cost SOPs
  • Update and revise SOPs and other information associated with retail and cost management and make appropriate system updates as needed
  • Responsible for providing policy guidance to stakeholders, including store associates, senior directors of regional merchandising, merchandising category teams
Other
  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field of work.
  • At least 5 years of progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of business retail analysis with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position.
  • Expert-level experience with Microsoft Office, especially Access and Excel. SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • Must be able to work effectively with various levels of management and possess relationship management skills.
  • Experience with an enterprise signage application is strongly desired.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
