Buyer - Full-time / Part-time

JOB PURPOSE
Initiates the purchase of supplies, services, and equipment in a cost effective, timely and accurate manner.

1. Screen purchase requisitions for accuracy and proper approval authority.
Percentage of time: 5 %

2. Locate and screen vendors needed to originate and conclude a purchase order. Transmit EDI purchase orders to prime vendors.
Percentage of time: 30 %

3. Process all types of purchase orders, including non-stock orders, and contractual agreements utilizing the Materials Management Information System.
Percentage of time: 30 %

4. Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and Accounts Payable. Resolve problem notes from the Storeroom.
Percentage of time: 10 %

5. Process credits, exchanges, cancellations, returns, and repairs.
Percentage of time: 5 %

6. Work with Surgery and orthopedic sales reps to process special orthopedic orders. Allocate monthly demurrage charges for liquefied gas tanks.
Percentage of time: 10 %

7. Maintain service contracts file. Create and maintain standing orders and blanket purchase orders.
Percentage of time: 5 %

8. Set up new items in the Storeroom working with the Storeroom Supervisor. Resolve problem notes from the Storeroom. Work with forms vendor to process forms orders and maintain appropriate inventory of forms.
Percentage of time: 5 %
