Amgen is seeking an Analytics, Reporting and Technology Manager for our newly created External Workforce Center (EWC). The Manager will report to the Director of the EWC and will work out of Amgen’s Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies.

As Amgen has set out to transform the processes, systems, and structure for the life cycle management of our external workforce (i.e. temp workers, consultants, outsourced services, etc.), the Analytics, Reporting and Technology Manager will work closely with the Director of the EWC to establish and deliver standardized key metrics and reporting to the business for all external labor across Amgen globally. Additionally, this Manager will be the system administrator for key External Workforce (EW) systems (Fieldglass and its integrations with other systems) and Subject Matter Expert for external workforce processes. This manager will also enable visibility and develop insights into EW spend, headcount, space allotment and additional key metrics through standardized reporting and analytics.

The External Workforce Center is responsible for sourcing all staff augmentation/temp labor and some SOW (statement of work) contracts via project-based workers. In addition, the Center is responsible for delivering cost savings targets, and executing on operational excellence for external worker related processes globally.

Key Activities for the Manager include:
Develops and delivers EW metrics across Amgen
Partners with Amgen Full Potential Initiative technology work stream on executing the implementation plan
Delivers reporting and analytics on cost savings targets to align with initiative goals
Serves as the administrator for key EW systems including Fieldglass, ServiceNow, the Data Lake, etc.
Works closely with SAP / Fieldglass, managed service providers (MSPs) and IS partners on system enhancements
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert on all EW processes and system enablement of those processes
Provides analysis of key external workforce trends
Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand reporting and analytic needs related to the external workforce
Leads testing activities for future enhancements of Fieldglass, WorkDay and related integrations
Makes recommendations to the EWC for further automation and continuous improvement opportunities
Manages one direct report (Analytics, Reporting and Technology Analyst)
Benchmarks key metrics with Staffing Industry Analysts, Talent Date Exchange, or other applicable resources to drive continuous improvement
Partners with EWC Business Partners and Regional leads to understand reporting needs of the business
Key contributor to the build of the dynamic reporting and analytic capabilities

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of Human Resources and/or Finance and/or Strategic Sourcing experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Human Resources and/or Finance and/or Strategic Sourcing experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Human Resources and/or Finance and/or Strategic Sourcing experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources and/or Finance and/or Strategic Sourcing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in an analytic role supporting an External Workforce Program, Human Resources, or Procurement
M.S. in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or M.B.A. with concentration in Finance
Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated capability to manage many large complex data sets
Outstanding communication and consulting skills with capability to translate findings into insights and recommend actions that directly support business needs
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Vendor Management Systems (Fieldglass or others); working knowledge of macros, VBA and/or Access
Experience managing large projects on a global scale involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business
Strong problem solving, consulting, and management skills
Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and executives
Ability to partner well with business and corporate support functions
