Maintenance Mechanic - Full-time / Part-time

A Murfreesboro heat treat facility is seeking a maintenance supervisor to install, maintain, and repair all furnaces, equipment, and buildings in accordance with company regulations and specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, refrigeration, and chemical systems
• Perform and document preventative maintenance inspections on meters, gauges, quench oil levels, and furnace mechanisms
• Install and move equipment using forklifts and hoists; unload, transport, and store fabrication materials

Qualifications:

• Read and understand instructions, blueprints, and schematics
• Understand the rudiments of heat-treating and metal finishing
• Understand and use electro mechanical and programmable controls

Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used:

• Multi-meter, amprobe, drill press, welding equipment, cutting torch
• Pipe threading machine, cut off saw, and various hand tools

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems and electronics, pipefitting, instrumentation, temperature control devices, and welding (equivalent to a 2 year technical college education)
• Two years experience in welding, electronics, electrical systems
• Five years experience in an industrial environment
• Must be able to obtain a forklift certification

Expectations:

• Low temperatures in the winter months and high temperatures in the summer months
  • Facility is not temperature controlled
• Exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, oil, and smoke
• Physical activities not limited to:
  • Lifting and moving up to 60 lbs
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching, and crouching

$19.85 / hr on 3rd shift
