Purpose of Your Job Position

As a Chef, you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and all others as well as demonstrating in all interactions, Consulate Health Cares five core values of Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Passion.The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Director of Dining Services, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review menus prior to preparation of food
  • Assure that all food procedures are followed
  • Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
  • Assist with the purchase and inventory of the food supply
  • Prepare and serve meals
Education and Experience
  • Cook must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of food experience in a supervisory capacity at a hospital, nursing home facility, to other related medical facility preferred.
  • Experience with quantity food preparation
  • Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of proper nutritional requirements
