Job DescriptionThe Metro Marketing Field Team Leader (MMFTL) supports multiple locations ranging from 3-5 stores, depending on geography. This position will support our 3 stores in Hawaii (Oahu and Maui), and will also support our new store opening (Queen – Oahu) in March 2018 – for a total of 4 stores. The MMFTL is responsible for customer acquisition and retention with the goal of increasing customer count and basket size with creation and management of strategic relationships in the business and metro communities to achieve those goals. Duties will include strategic competitive planning, cultivation of partnerships for giving, contribution to social media accounts and marketing leadership as part of metro over site. Development and implementation of metro marketing strategy based on regional strategies is mandatory. * Collaborate with Regional marketing to support internal and external marketing programs and promotional efforts including community relations, public relations, 5% days and events. * Collaborate and communicate consistently with regional marketing and store leadership to define and develop marketing strategy and written action plans to achieve store specific objectives. Follow up on these plans with weekly and quarterly communication. * Recaps and updates on progress on a weekly (or regular) basis sharing insights, evaluations and projected plans * Support and contribute to social media accounts with guidance from regional marketing as well as negotiate opportunities for collaborative social branding with partners. * Effective scheduling and communication that makes sense for the business by connecting with the stores through frequent store visits, email communication and participation in hyper local community events. * Work with a high-level purpose and strategize to meet the needs of the Metro marketplace while introducing hyper local opportunities to store leadership * Follows through in a timely manner on all customer questions and donation requests. * Perform hands on marketing support for off-site, blogger, media tours/events and coordinate team member support with the Store Team Leaders. * Seek and cultivate great community partners and off site selling opportunities for the metro area to create sales and brand awareness. * Maintain and grow community and school relationships and partnerships. * Promote and offer guidance for store execution of community events: 5% days, food and beverage tastings, school tours, non-profit events, other customer activities. * Coordinates store coupons, PLUs and iPads for offsite events with the assistance of the regional marketing and the technical services teams. * Collaborate to ensure event signage is produced and executed as needed. * Share best practices and strategic insight for executing program signage. * Manage metro marketing budgets (inclusive of all stores in the area of over site), partnerships and donations to maximize win-win partnerships * Ensure that product transfers are done promptly and accurately with correct purchase journals on a periodic basis. * Collaborate cross store and with other MMFTLs on appropriate community partnerships and events. * Provide leadership and marketing insight for each store * Measure, evaluate and analyze programs as needed. * Follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures. Know and practice proper lifting techniques and safe use of tools / equipment. * Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment. * Report safety violations / hazards immediately, maintain department security. * Keep Store Leadership and department leadership informed of all events that affect the department. * Attend all required store and regional meetings. * Visit the competition on a regular basis and react to current industry trends. * Regular attendance is essential. * Perform other duties as assigned by Regional Leadership. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required * Excellent event planning and communication skills * Well organized with excellent follow through. * Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook Exchange, Adobe Illustrator, Access Via and IRMA supply ordering). * Must be able to meet all deadlines. * Must be motivated and detail oriented with a vision and eye for the big picture. * Love and knowledge of natural foods and Whole Foods Market's missions and foundations. * Minimum two (2) years experience in marketing, public relations and or event management. * Background in food industry and retail food preparation desirable. * Ability to interact with media and maintain positive relationships with the business and vendor community * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong budget and time management skills. * Prioritization skills and ability to follow directions and implement ideas. * Two (2) years leadership / management experience or equivalent. * Available to work a flexible schedule. * Excellent motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm. * Can train and inspire Team Members to excellence in all aspects of the department. * Prior knowledge of community a plus. * Must have reliable transportation. * Serv-Safe certificate required. (Whole Foods Market will provide training if required.)
