Delivery Truck Driver (CDL) - Interline Brands

POSITION PURPOSE
As a Delivery Driver you will be responsible for the distribution and delivery of maintenance, repair and operational (MRO) products to a variety of facilities and businesses. You will operate a company delivery truck, loading and unloading freight for deliveries to local customers.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
50%- Responsible for making local deliveries and inventorying all stops, performing pre/post trip inspection, safely operate a tractor or commercial motor vehicle he/she drives, report to work when scheduled and on time, , follow instructions given by leaders upon request and be a team player
10%- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
10%- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
10%- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.

Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
10%- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to Transportation Manager. Has no direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
Minimal or no educational requirement for this job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 years

Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of previous delivery driver experience preferred.

As a Delivery Driver you must be a team player with excellent customer service skills and the drive to succeed. Qualified candidates are self-motivated, responsible, highly organized and able to multitask in a fast paced and changing environment.

Other requirements of the Local Truck Driver include:
Valid, active Class A License
Clean Motor Vehicle Record
Ability to load and unload heavy items up to 70 lbs.
Must pass DOT physical, criminal check and drug screen
Excellent customer service skills
Clean appearance
Must be familiar with local and surrounding areas
Ability to read a maps and follow directions
