Purpose and Scope: Reporting in to the Senior Director of Concepts, working alongside the illustrating team, the illustrator/ colorist creates sketches for the Women's Polo Design team, with a focus on outerwear, rough wear, and tailored pieces, while assisting in color ups across all product categories. Key Responsibilities:Must be able to adapt/adjust illustration style to sit cohesively with current illustrations, and project a "Ralph Lauren" look/attitudeMust be able to illustrate quickly and in quantityMust have a seasoned eye for design and proportionMust have a highly collaborative attitude, and work well with team members and take direction wellMust have a thorough understanding of garment construction and terminologyMust know how to illustrate different fabrics, and have an intuitive sense of stylingMust have experience rendering with AD (Chartpack, Prismacolor, Copic) markersMust have experience rendering different fabric qualities and weightsRendering in gouache, and Computer rendering in Photoshop is a plus*Participate in concept and design meetings. Take accurate notes in meetingsResponsible for maintaining an archive of sketches for each season as well as coordinating with product design teams to know what is in the line, and what has dropped
Requirements:BA or BS in Design field3-4 years of illustrating/ design related experienceFundamental understanding of garment constructionOrganized, highly motivated, pro-active, multi-tasking/time management, and enjoy working with a team
