K-VA-T Food Stores is the parent company of Food City, a highly successful regional grocery retail operation, headquartered in the beautiful and historic town of Abingdon, VA. Food City is currently looking for Night Stockers to join our team at various store locations. We welcome all applicants interested in working in stock to apply. Comprehensive training for all positions will be provided upon hire.

Essential Job Functions:

• Stock all merchandise in its proper location according to shelf allocation
• Provide courteous service to customers at all times
• Replace misplaced items to proper location
• Unload trucks
• Sweep and mop all areas of the store
• Check the shelf label of each item to ensuring pricing accuracy
• Keep stockroom area neat and clean
• Properly remove and dispose of all trash
• Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality
• Clean and straighten shelves
• Stack product in stock room
• Build displays as directed

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to resolve differences through diplomatic means
• Flexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have excellent problem solving skills
• Must be able to lead by example to give Food City customers their best shopping experience
• Must be able to work effectively under strict deadlines and thrive in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with various levels of company representatives, customers, and vendors
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks
• Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
