Our client is a leading North American manufacturer of pressure treated wood products. Its core products provide basic elements of the economys physical infrastructure. With a long history and a reputation anchored by the security of supply that it offers, the Company serves many of North Americas largest railroads, telecom providers, and electrical transmission utilities and produces treated wood for the industrial and residential marketplaces.

The main duties of each core production area include but are limited to;

*Works directly around treated wood

*Responsible for removing 1/4" steel rods from between the layers of treated ties

*Operation of air benders to package up treated ties into truck packs

*Uses a tie pick to space ties that are getting made into air stack bundles

*Applies steel endplates to the magnets on the endplates or onto the ties directly so the endplates can push the plates into the ties

*When applying plates directly to the ties, a hammer will be used to tack a corner of the plate onto the tie

*Use of an electric drill and a jug to drill holes in treated ties

*Laying plates and spikes on to the drilled ties in preparation for the next step of the production process

*Setting spikes into the ties using a hammer

*Utilizing a jackhammer to push spikes into the ties to a set height

 

Candidates must also possess:

*The ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis

*Represent strong work ethic and a stable work history

*Enjoy working outdoors in all work elements
