Production Operator

Job DescriptionProduction Operator - New Hudson, MI.Must be available to train on 1st shift up to 1 month, then move permanently to 2nd or 3rd.Pay is $14.00/hour.Position is temp-to-hire after 120 days.Job Duties:- Operate machines to produce quality parts on schedule.- Troubleshoot and repair specialized machinery.- Work in a safe manner. At no time shall safe work practices be compromised.- Work closely with the shift team leader to ensure that all machines run to their maximum potential. - Use work orders and other documentation to properly produce and custom package mechanical fasteners.- Ensure the daily history sheets, manufacturing packs and all other related paperwork are filled out correctly and accurately, making sure all data is recorded, using up-to-date Forms and internal systems.- Operate the forklift truck once trained.- Transfer raw/finished materials around the production area in a safe and controlled manner.- Electronically process finished goods through a centralized business software system (SYSPRO).- Ensure lot management is in control.- Reduce unplanned stops and minimize tooling changeover times.- Ensure next tools and jobs are ready for the equipment.- Other duties as assigned.RequirementsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:- High School diploma or Equivalent- Strong mechanical aptitude. Must be able to demonstrate some level of mechanical experience and/or training.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Understanding that Safety and Quality come first.- Basic computer skills. - Excellent attendance.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift. - Must be able to move around production area, including standing and bending.- Must have good visual acuity to read and utilize operations software system.
