Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Production Machinery Maintenance/Operation Specialist for a contract opportunity in Durham, NC with our partner, one of the world's leading energy suppliers and innovators in energy infrastructure development. Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Correct equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling-disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems such as power and drive trains as well as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Makes general adjustments and alignments on machinery as well as specific adjustments for bearing loads, belt drives, and machine timing.
  • Conducts inspections and diagnostic tests on machinery to determine necessary maintenance.
  • Completes preventive maintenance schedules, installs component upgrades, controls corrosion, verifies machine performance through test runs and adjusts controls and systems accordingly.
  • Tests safety components in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Maintains machine service records.
  • Maintains essential machine components inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting/repair and PM
  • Previous experience in operating manufacturing equipment
  • Skilled in use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude/skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to thrive in a high production facility
  • Willingness to work any shift as needed to ensure production remains on schedule

Additional Information

  • This is a temp to hire position
  • Hours for the position are second shift, Hours are 6:00am – 2:30pm
  • May be asked to work some 10 hour shifts as needed based on production needs
  • Dependable, detailed worker
  • Welding experience a plus – at least the capacity for mechanical ability and willing to learn if not experienced – supervisor will train/instruct in proper procedure
  • No smoking // 30 minute lunch break // with one 10-minute break in the am
  • Welding gear and other PPE provided
