The Manager, eCommerce Engineering is part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team responsible for delivering world class next generation eCommerce capabilities that will be utilized across multiple channels - including web, mobile, tablet, social integration, retail stores, and others. In this role, you will be responsible for coaching developers to continuously elevate their engineering skills and to deliver innovative experiences in a consistent, maintainable and highly scalable manner. You'll lead by example, evangelize agile culture, grow and mentor the team and be an advocate of new technology and development techniques. The successful candidate is a proven software leader with excellent communication and relationship building skills in addition to current, hands-on coding skills.
Scope
* Willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues.
* Talent management - Attract, hire and retain top engineering talent, building a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
* Leadership - Champion department vision and direction. Champion agile mindset and processes. Provide a primary engineering touch point for Product Management and other stakeholders.
* Continuous Improvement - Challenge status quo for continuous improvement. Work closely with the team to produce high-quality design, architecture, and system integration proposals. Ensure that code quality is high and that testing is robust.
* Project Execution - Lead projects from inception through completion often involving multiple internal and external teams. Collaborate with product management, project management, and other stakeholders to successfully execute on projects. Work with cutting edge proprietary and open source development tools.
* Financial Engineering - Manage project financials, budgets, and expenses.
Education Requirements
* Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Minimum Experience
* 5 years' experience building web applications using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery, Template technologies, micro services, REST Web Services and other JavaScript frameworks (such as Electron, NodeJS, React etc.).
* 2 years' experience leading a team of 4-10 engineers.
* Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, static code analysis, and automated integration testing.
* A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader and/or development manager.
* Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
Preferred Experience
* No SQL and Hybris/Demandware experience
Other Skills
* Extensive knowledge of business processes concentrated around E-Commerce applications.
