Job Description

The Role:

Supports the Director of Sourcing and Procurement by effectively analyzing acquisition targets and recent acquisitions. Utilizes internal data sources and acquisition purchasing data to deliver COGS enhancements and payment terms gains. Works closely with Product Department, M&A team, GPC/NAPA suppliers, and acquired firms.

Position Performance Measures:

  • Effectively analyzes gaps in cost and payment terms between NAPA and newly acquired GPC entities.
  • Delivers COGS enhancements to newly acquired GPC entities.
  • Delivers terms and conditions enhancements to newly acquired GPC entities.
  • Supports Director of Sourcing and Procurement and VP of Product Management in negotiations with existing NAPA suppliers.

Responsibilities

A Day in the life:

  • Supports NAPA Product Department through analysis of internal and external data sources related to Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Produces detailed analyses of recent acquisitions and acquisition targets within GPC/NAPA.
  • Travels to recent acquisition offices to gather data and work with management team(s) to identify shared suppliers/growth opportunities.
  • Supports Product Department management with reporting for Senior Management.
  • Works directly with M&A leadership to validate target acquisition financials during diligence periods
  • Prepares monthly/quarterly reports to track COGS and terms enhancement progress.
  • Prepares, evaluates and distributes annual “Supplier Cost Review” files

Qualifications

What you’ll need: 

  • 2+ years of relevant financial analysis or M&A experience;
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, problem-solving and writing skills
  • 2+ years professional experience required; experience with advanced data analytics and financial reporting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft suite especially Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, and formulas).
  • Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, manage conflict, and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, consolidate, analyze, report, and draw conclusions from a variety of information sources is a must.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Travels up to 30% of the time.

And if you have this, even better:

  • Previous knowledge of reporting systems (Cognos 8 & 10, Qlik) preferred.
  • Automotive Aftermarket experience preferred.
