The Moonlighting Residents in our Crisis Stabilization Unit conduct Physical Examinations focused on overall physical health as well as on acute intoxication and withdrawal signs and symptoms. The physical examination should include obtaining medical history, assessing mental status and may also include interpreting lab work. The Moonlighting Resident also: Prescribes medication to address withdrawal issues and other chronic physical conditions as indicated.Collaborates to ensure Individual Service Plans are completed in a timely fashion.Provides psychiatric evaluations on an as needed basis.Completes additional psychiatric evaluations may be included that require obtaining mental health history, making diagnoses and referring clients to appropriate internal and external care providers.Educate and provide guidance to clients related to medical and mental health issues and will maintain and update medical records in a timely fashion.Participates as a team member with BRBH nursing and non-medical clinical staff to assure treatment consistency and excellent team communication. Minimum Requirements: Licensure: Active, unrestricted license as a Physician in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Third or Fourth Year Resident required.Education: Completion of an accredited medical college curriculum that fulfills academic and residency requirements for licensure as a physician.Criminal Background Check: Candidates are required to undergo a fingerprint background check.
