Description Standard Qualifications: Los Robles Hospital & Medical Centeris a licensed 404 bed acute care facility. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Los Robles Hospital has the only Level III Trauma Center in Eastern Ventura County and the only Emergency Room in both Los Angeles and Ventura counties coveted EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) rating. In addition, it is the only hospital certified by both counties as a STEMI designated heart attack center for rapid heart attack response and is a certified Primary Stroke Center. The Pre Hospital Manager, Emergency Department is a registered nurse to who reports to the Director of Emergency and Trauma Services. The Pre-hospital Manage is responsible and accountable for planning organizing, developing and directing daily operation of pre hospital and mobile intensive care nurses (MICN). The Prehospital Manager participates with the entire ED leadership team for achievement of key results in the areas of Quality, Service, Growth, People and Finance. The Prehospital Manager is responsible with the ED Clinical Manager for determining educational needs of the nursing staff in caring for the patients to meet assuring that the highest quality of care is provided in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, as well as other regulations that govern Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. The Prehospital Manager will provide oversight for the Pediatric Program within the Emergency Department in collaboration with the ED Clinical Manager and Educator. As well as oversight of outreach programs for Survivors of Cardiac Arrest. The Prehospital Manager serves as a role model to staff and possess professional communication skills and clinical and operational decision making. In addition, the Prehospital Manager shows skill in leading and motivating others, conflict resolution and service excellence, and assists the ED Director in attaining budgetary accountability by assuring that staffing reflects alignment with the staffing matrix and fluctuates appropriately to meet the needs of the department. Under the leadership of the Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, the Prehospital Manger will assume responsibilities for to complete participate in projects that will enable the development of knowledge, skills and ability related to the following: Development of knowledge, skills and abilities related to all prehospital and mobile intensive care nurses activities sponsored by Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in compliance with Ventura County and Los Angeles Emergency Medical Services policies, and protocols in accordance with the Health and Safety Code Section 1797-1799 et al accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations. Communication skills that enable well developed interpersonal interaction with staff, colleagues, senior management, patients, family members and medical staff. Management of Prehospital Staff, MICN nurses and other associated with the pre hospital and MICN program. Interprets statues, ordinance, regulations, and policies as they relate to all pre-hospital and MICN activities at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center. Introduce, implement, evaluation pre hospital care, core providers and MICNs with the Base Hospital Paramedic Liaison Physician in medical direction. Responsible for the organization services and system necessary for multidisciplinary care of pre hospital patients continually evaluate the service and systems annually. Chair and or participate in hospital, county , state and federal committees related to Prehospital, Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) and community outreach related to CPR and Cardiac Arrest Survivors . Management of staff performance including establishing a motivation and healthy work environment, ensuring staff development opportunities, providing effective performance feedback and recognition and addressing performance and behavioral deficiencies. Introduction, implementation and ongoing management of data collection for prehospital used by EMS agencies and the facility. Determining educational needs with the ED Clinical Manager related to the care of the pediatric patients, serving as a resource. Establish data collection process for EDAP related to collection of data and learning needs from assessment. Collaborating with ED leadership team to develop and implement unit based quality improvement process for pediatric care of the emergency patient. Serve as the Pediatric Liaison Nurse for EDAP. The Prehospital Manager may assist with hospital wide educational activities as determined related to community outreach. Perform other duties as assigned.
