Linux Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is contracting to the Navy to develop a program that helps sailors on submarines gather data from a variety of sensors, sonar, and radar system to determine what threats are around them in the surrounding water. We are seeking three Linux Engineers (0-5 years, 5-12 years, and 12+ years) who will analyze, design, develop and test Navy systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort.

Additional responsibilities include armoring systems for Navy certification and accreditation; working with external vendors and customers; configuring lab environments and specifications. This individual is also responsible for requirements definitions, software critical item tests, etc, in addition to configuring and troubleshooting system hardware and software.

Requirements:
* Working with either Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or 7 (aka RHEL) and being able to work at the command line
* Linux Engineering experience (Kickstart experience)
* Experience Scripting in either Bash, Shell or Python experience (Bash is required)
* Experience integrating Virtual Technologies including KVM, V-Sphere, and Hyper-V
* Active US Secret Clearance

Preferred:
* Experience working with Navy products
* Experience coding in C++ or Java
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair software problems
* Experience cabling equipment racks to support system hardware components
* Advanced certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux
* Advanced certification in Windows
* Cloud Computing/Virtualization
* Experience with Information Assurance (C&A Process, IAVA Management, etc)
