Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is currently seeking a Part Time School Social Worker for our School Social Services Department located in East Orange, NJ. The School Social Services Department offers a variety of services to Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Newark as well as nonpublic and charter schools in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. Our programs increase the competency of students and families to solve interpersonal and intrapersonal problems and avoid drugs and alcohol by providing at-risk students, their families, and their schools a variety of school-based social services. Staff can also consult with schools on developing school-wide programming, such as anti-bulling programs, anticipating the closing of a school, sensitivity training for schools making changes in their student populations, and workshops for the school s faculty and staff.
