Job Title: BRAKE TECHNICIAN Department: Operations Reports to: Shop Supervisor, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Class B) Non-Managerial position Position Purpose: To provide quality service to customers when performing brake repair/replacement per manufacturer specifications. This position serves to enhance and expand Jiffy Lube services to include brake inspection, diagnosis and repair. It provides an important and critical service to the customers. Job Responsibilities: * Perform brake inspections to determine needs. * Recommend repair/replacement based on findings of inspection. * Requires research to look up and identify specifications for different vehicles * Perform all necessary repairs/replacements for brake service as defined by JLI procedures. * Communicate findings/results effectively to customers. * Perform functions of Lube Technician. * Perform functions of Safety/Emissions Technician, if applicable. * Other duties as requested or assigned Job Requirements/Competencies: * Valid driver license preferred. * Clean driving record from State preferred. * ASE certification or equivalent. * Safety and Emissions certification for Utah. * 90 day Jiffy Lube technician certification. * Brake certification. Education/Experience: High school or GED with 2 years of experience; also requires ASE certification or equivalent.
