Store Manager Job Purpose: The Assistant Store Manager position is responsible for taking direction from the Store Manager to learn and assist in daily operations of a retail store; which includes assisting other store management in training and directing employees within Jiffy Lube operations; and ensuring all image, customer service, legal, and security, and Human Resources guidelines are met. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES This is the first level of management in the career path for store employees. Acting as lead on floor control and supporting the SM with administrative duties will be the main responsibility of this position. Under the direction of the SM, this position will participate in the responsibilities detailed below. However, whether an ASM performs certain of these functions will be determined by the SM's judgement regarding the ASM's ability to do so. This position will be required to assist employees in all positions on the floor. Employee Management * On the Job Training (OJT) - Assist SM and ASM II to ensure all OJT training meets J Team Service Standards (JTSS). * Provide input to the SM on individual employee performance to assist the SM in their delivery of daily coaching & mentoring and performance evaluations of store employees. * Assist SM to ensure all human resource activities are within compliance of company policies, state and federal regulations and laws. * Responsible for assisting the SM with conducting investigations associated with store operations. * Responsible for ensuring company store operations are in compliance with all company policies, and state, local and federal regulations and laws in the absence of the SM and ASM II. * Ensures payroll records are accurate, and hourly employees clock in and out in accordance with company policy and state and federal regulations and laws in the absence of the SM and ASM II. * Assist SM with training certification of store employees. * Responsible for employee scheduling as directed by SM. * Ensure weekly customer service rallies are performed with store employees when directed by SM or in his/her absence. Store Operations * Responsible for assisting the SM in managing the following store operational items: * Ordering, receiving, maintaining and reconciliation of inventory. * Accountable (in absence of the SM or ASM II) for timely opening, closing of store and delivery of deposits to bank. * Responsible for site standards of cleanliness/housekeeping and other activity board assignments as directed by the SM or ASM II. * Report areas within the store and its operations which require attention. Communicate issues with recommendation to Store Manager. * Reinforce performance expectations outlined by the SM to the store team. * Continuous employee reinforcement to deliver the customer commitment - Fast, Trustworthy, and Knowledgeable...Every time, Everywhere. * Floor control - perform team lead position to optimize JTSS, service times and delivery of services to customers as required by JLI standards. * Assist the SM with investigations to resolve customer complaints and warranties as needed. * Assist the SM with the implementation of marketing/customer experience programs. * Assist the SM to ensure adherence to store administration policies, procedures and guidelines. Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) * Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) always, setting an example for others to follow. * Transport employees to clinic or ER for treatment. * Report near misses, first aids, recordable injuries, lost time injuries, environment issues, Notice of Violations to SM. * Complete HSSE incident reports for review by SM. * Implement SM steps/suggestions to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers. * Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents to SM in a timely manner. * Ensure SM policy and procedures are effectively implemented when accidents occur.
