Private Care Aide - Full-time / Part-time

VNA needs an experienced aide for night care - 3 times a week 7p - 7a. Patient prefers a male home health aide. This is a PRN (as-needed) position. $11.00 per hour.

Essential Duties

• Provides or assists with personal care as a part of the total plan of care including: activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting.
• Meal preparation including specified diets and diet reinforcement;
• Assist with prescribed exercises; non-medicated enemas with specific written orders and instructions by the nurse.
• Preventive measures for skin breakdown with written instructions from the professional.
• May assist family or patient with dressing changes by assisting with positioning of the patient and assisting with supplies.
• Follows the instructions on written Home Health Aide Assignment prepared by the Registered Nurse.
• Responsible for identifying and reporting changes in client conditions.
• Completes written documentation of services provided to the patient within the time limits set by the agency.
• Provides light housekeeping as necessary for maintenance of the client s environment and safety.
• Laundry for client as specified; cleaning client s room and other rooms as specified; empty trash.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one years experience in home health and care-giving.
• Valid Texas Driver s License required.
• Proof of valid Texas Automobile Liability Insurance required.
• Must pass competency examination administered by VNA which has been approved by Health Facility Licensure and Certification Division, Texas Department of Health.
