About this job

* Research and resolve payroll tax correspondences, audit processed payrolls (disability, new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, transfers, part-time payroll), assist with special projects, troubleshoot system errors, analyze for correctness payroll tax deposits made by outside tax service for payroll (daily responsibility)
* Coordinate the distribution of payroll data files to third party vendors. Reconcile files (check print, direct deposit, tax, 401k, FSA, HAS and ban reconciliation file) and provide backup documentation for funding. Set up and calculate garnishment processing. Respond to inquiries from internal and external clients, resolve problems, recommends solutions and automate processes for efficiency. (weekly responsibility)
* Process executive and general manager payrolls and maintain non-qualified plans. Process payroll (disability, new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, transfers, relocation pay, off-cycle payrolls for CA terminations and BYOD reimbursements) (daily responsibility)
* Reconcile General ledger payroll tax accounts. Work with the budge department to ensure accuracy of GL mapping for payroll interface uploads into SAP system. Reconcile quarterly and annually tax deposit reports by outside tax vendor to PeopleSoft tax report. Handle new state and local unemployment and withholding tax registrations. Prepare tax returns and make deposits not processed by tax services on a quarterly and annual basis. (monthly responsibility)
* Maintain and review all yearly State unemployment rates and review third party quarterly payments. Complete year end W-2 processing. Reconcile W-2 and W-3 documents. Submit to third party for printing and tax filing. (yearly responsibility)
* Provide payroll related information to external departments such as wage verification, 401k billing, chargeback reporting, and 401k and HAS Funding, GL and Bank Reconciliation reporting. Interacts with Human Resources, Accounting, Budget, Treasury, Tax, and Legal and assists with reporting when necessary. (daily responsibility)
* Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule
* Travel domestically
* Work holidays and weekends when required
* Experience with PeopleSoft 9.0 Payroll, Time and Labor and query
* Proficient with Microsoft excel
* Strong payroll tax knowledge
* Ability to work with multiple payrolls
* Highly organized and ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Keep abreast with multi-state payroll taxation laws
