Your responsibilities:
• This position is responsible for providing Commercial / Private and Medicaid /Medicare , Accounts Receivable, Insurance Billing/Follow-Up/Collections
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and state Medicaid
• Solid foundation and understanding of Medicaid, Medicaid LTC and Coinsurance billing knowledge
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures
• Check eligibility and benefit verification
• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing
• Payment and Reimbursement methodology used denial management and / or Refund processing.
• Working collector queue daily and work the correspondence and return mail daily.
• Provides continuous updates and information to Admins at the facility levels regarding ongoing errors, payer related issues, registration issues and other controllable activities affecting payments
• Position will be assigned to work one or more accounts plus receivables as well as other duties as assigned
• Proficient in computer use, date entry, and PCC is a plus
Required skills and qualifications:
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
* One year of bookkeeping or entry level accounting required
* Flexibility with schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Must enjoy working with the senior population
