PrideStaff Hattiesburg is currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Diesel and General Maintenance Mechanic

Job Duties:
  • Responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, light vehicles, farm equipment and all other machinery/ equipment
  • Responsible for troubleshooting problems involving hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel and brake lines, etc. and resolving them
  • Responsible for building and assembling machines or mechanical components according to requirements
  • Responsible for inspecting machines, engines, transmissions, etc. and run diagnostic test to discover functionality issues
  • Responsible for performing through maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Responsible for checking and applying lubricants; replenishing fluids and components of engines and machinery components
  • Responsible for proving preventative maintenance as needed
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory of parts, ordering and inventory of chemicals and other shop items
  • Responsible for housekeeping and OSHA compliance
  • Maintain logs of work, issues, inspection sheets, parts, tools, etc
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus
  • Valid CDL and DL
  • Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
  • Mechanical skills with a familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and engines as well as the tools to fix them
  • Aptitude using various hand tools and precision measurement tools
  • Problem solving ability
  • Strong communication skills
