A specialized preschool on Long Island is looking for a passionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to join their team for the 2017 - 2018 school year. In this role, the Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for working with children ages 3-5 in a large school with a lot of treatment space and equipment. This position is for a Physical Therapist (PT) who is passionate about working with the Pediatric population and is looking to work in a very supportive team environment alongside other Therapists from Monday through Friday. Job Description

The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for:

  • Providing screening, evaluation, and therapy services, as assigned
  • Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences to determine diagnosis and developing appropriate treatment plans for children
  • Providing consultation on issues involving effective motor development to teaching staff and other appropriate programmatic staff and programs
  • Providing information to families regarding their child’s motor development and stimulation
  • Participating in in-service training and supervision and seek professional growth by updating knowledge and skills pertinent to performance of job responsibilities
  • Maintaining and making all records and reports available required
  • Performing other assigned duties as defined and directed by the Physical Therapy Supervisor
Required Skills
  • 6+ months of Physical Therapy experience
  • NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
     
Desired Skills
  • Previous experience working with the Pediatric population
