A specialized preschool on Long Island is looking for a passionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to join their team for the 2017 - 2018 school year. In this role, the Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for working with children ages 3-5 in a large school with a lot of treatment space and equipment. This position is for a Physical Therapist (PT) who is passionate about working with the Pediatric population and is looking to work in a very supportive team environment alongside other Therapists from Monday through Friday. Job DescriptionThe Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for:
- Providing screening, evaluation, and therapy services, as assigned
- Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences to determine diagnosis and developing appropriate treatment plans for children
- Providing consultation on issues involving effective motor development to teaching staff and other appropriate programmatic staff and programs
- Providing information to families regarding their child’s motor development and stimulation
- Participating in in-service training and supervision and seek professional growth by updating knowledge and skills pertinent to performance of job responsibilities
- Maintaining and making all records and reports available required
- Performing other assigned duties as defined and directed by the Physical Therapy Supervisor
- 6+ months of Physical Therapy experience
- NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
- Previous experience working with the Pediatric population
