Advanced Ticket/Product Sales & Guest Services Specialist – FT & PT Winter Seasonal – Northstar California

The Advanced Ticket/Product Sales & Guest Services Specialist is a part of the Product Sales & Service Department. This position can either be full-time or part-time and is responsible for satisfying and exceeding guest expectations by delivering outstanding guest experiences. The Product Sales & Service Department is a high-volume sales department with a large amount of guest interaction. 

This position can be located at any of the following locations:

1. Ticket & Season Pass Office (3 locations) - This location primarily sells tickets and season passes.  It is also the guest service and information center for Northstar.  Candidates should have the ability to retain a significant amount of information.
2. Kids' Ski & Snowboard School - This location is busy with a lot of young guests. It is preferred that candidates for this location have some experience with children, and/or enjoy interactions with children and their caregivers of all age.  A high level of detail and ability to process complex transactions is necessary.
3. Adventure, Guiding, & Learning Center – This location’s focus is on our private and semi-private lesson offerings for adults and children. Candidates in this location need to be able to retain a large amount of Ski & Snowboard School information, along with the Village information, and to act as the guest’s concierge, if necessary.
4. True North at the Ritz Carlton – This location sells all of the Northstar product line. Candidates should have the ability to retain a large amount of product knowledge. Working in the Ritz-Carlton requires the ability to consistently deliver superior guest service to high-end clientele.  A strict adherence to the uniform and grooming policy is also required. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Demonstrate mastery of all entry Resort Point of Sale (RPOS) and Guest Connect Systems
• Assist entry level Product Sales staff with transactions
• Accurately and efficiently process lift access products while capturing guest data; ask guests for data with each transaction
• Ability to learn, understand and effectively communicate with the guest about multiple product types and easily adapt to changing pricing and product offerings
• Make suitable recommendations on products to meet the guests’ needs and the business objectives
• Ability to handle a high volume of customer interactions while delivering exceptional service; internal & external
• Create a fun and professional work experience while communicating in a courteous and respectful manner
• Professionally assist and follow through with resolution of guest complaints; handle concerns and suggestions
• Perform daily sales and closing and be held responsible for end of day point of sale audit
• Work on a computer with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
• Must be able to interact with and engage the guest while working on a computer at the same time
• Follow company/department policies and procedures
• Participate in resort and departmental trainings and development courses
• Willing to cross-train and work in all areas/locations of Product Sales & Service
• Take initiative to perform duties which facilitate operations
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Promote and embrace Vail Resort’s Mission and Values; provide a safe work environment; implement Vail Resort’s mountain service essentials, strategies, policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Windows
• Strong communication skills; must be able to use proper English and grammar in speech and writing at all times
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Able to work independently and demonstrate team spirit
• Strong attention to detail
• Must enjoy working with people of all ages
• Ability to learn and speak intelligently about ALL of the resort products offered
• Prior cash handling experience 
• Previous guest service experience 
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience with Resort POS software highly preferred
• A desire to learn and master the various modules and the products they contain
