Position Summary:

Shape/develop strategic department initiatives to support groundbreaking innovations in the fresh food space. Act as an ambassador for the company’s overall “what’s for dinner” vision. Champion/influence cross-functional roles within and outside the enterprise in order to stand up new concepts for pilot or scale. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
• Coordinate efforts to build new culinary programs that support company sales and profit objectives across all merchandising departments
• Develop direct reports based on enterprise and associate-specific objectives
• Coordinate with Merchandising Execution and Operations teams on culinary initiatives/budgets, merchandising programs and itemization initiatives
• Identify best practices around the execution of culinary programs, and effectively communicate them throughout the enterprise
• Participate in the product development process of culinary programs
• Identify, evaluate and select the optimum industry, competitor and general food trends to maximize customers’ culinary experiences
• Coach cross-functional teams to maximize their effectiveness and improve their results by focusing on sales drivers, culinary-leading programs, simple/effective communications, division partnerships and hospitable store-level operations
• Travel to assist with the product development process

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable position/experience
• 5 years of merchandising, product innovation or similar experience
• Strong oral/written communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong analytical and follow-up skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Merchandiser, innovation manager, senior manager and/or coordinator roles in other departments
• Hospitality or food service background
