Transportation Staff Accountant - Full-time / Part-time

BASIC PURPOSE: Accounting position with frequent interaction with VP of Transportation and others in Gemini Operations.   Responsible for providing support and analysis needed to help Gemini Operations successfully operate their business and execute at a high level.  Perform monthly account reconciliations, assist with month end accounting processes, produce weekly and monthly reports, generate weekly freight invoices and perform analysis as requested.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Send out weekly revenue reports
• Perform analysis on transportation business as requested by VP of Transportation and/or accounting management
• Assist Regional Managers with monthly P&L questions
• Assist with month-end close
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
• Process freight invoices for intercompany and 3rd party loads.
• Ensure collection of all outstanding accounts receivable
• Research invoice discrepancies
• Balance cash accounts in SAP
• Meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
• Other projects and duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

·         Experience:

• Fuel or Transportation experience a plus
• SAP Experience is a plus

• Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self motivated, good time management skills, and the ability to prioritize

·         Typical Physical Demands:

• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
