Job Description
- Maintain stands of guest service quality.
- Achieves budgeted revenues and expenses and maximizes profitability related to the guest services department.
- Contributes to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of other hotel departments.
- Works with Assistant Director of Operations to develop short term and long term financial and operational plans for the guest service department which relate to the overall objectives of the hotel.
- Reviews Daily Revenue Report to ensure accuracy.
- Increases level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an improved product through associate development, job engineering and quality image.
- Manages in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
- Manages in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Manages the reservation function to maintain highest possible room occupancy and average daily rate through suggestive selling by associates.
- Maintains procedures for credit control and handling of financial transactions.
- Maintains procedures for security of monies, guest security and emergency procedures.
- Ensures all existing marketing programs are understood and utilized by the front office staff.
- Conducts inventory and performs purchasing duties as needed.
- Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of all work space and storage areas.
- Acts as Manager On Duty as scheduled.
- Attends weekly staff meetings
- Performs other assignments as requested.
Requirements
Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside†if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: Deal with system of real numbers; algebraic solution of equations; and probability and statistical inference. Apply fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion.
Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. Participate in discussions and debates. Speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
